NOUGAT COOKIES WITH HAZELNUT BRITTLE
125 g icing sugar
250 g butter
1 egg yolk
pinch salt
375 g wheat flour
1 package nougat
hazelnut brittle
_ combine all ingredients [except nougat and hazelnut brittle] and quickly knead into a dough
_ form the dough into a ball, divide it into two halves and wrap it in cling film
_ let it rest in the refrigerator for 3 hours
_ preheat oven to 150°C [circulating heat]
_ take out one half of the dough and roll it out quite thickly on a lightly floured work surface [approx. 4mm]
_ cut out cookies and carefully place them on two baking trays covered with baking paper
_ shape remaining dough into a ball and put it back in the refrigerator until it is needed again
_ bake the cookies in the oven for about 8-12 minutes, depending on their size
[cookies should only be lightly browned at the edges]
_ let them cool down
[proceed in the same way with the rest of the dough until the entire dough is used up]
_ heat the nougat mass in a water bath until it is liquid
_ place the biscuits on a grid and decorate with nougat
_ sprinkle with hazelnut brittle
